College Ready Workshops

The College Ready Workshops are designed specifically to fit the appropriate exposure for each grade level. The Knowledge Complex works with educators to deliver college content to all students. Each workshop can be adjusted by time and outcomes as requested. Contact Us for custom packaging and pricing.

 

Kindergarten - 5th Grade 

College Week:

      • Introducing College 

      • I went to College, Ask Me Where

      • College/Career Day 

      • Presentations/Interviews

      • Student Appreciation 

      • College Tours

      • Elementary Family Night

6th and 7th Grade

  • Workshop 1: Group Work. 

  • Workshop 2: Implement mentorship relationship. Assign each student to a mentor to discuss interests and goals.

  • Workshop 3: What’s your major?

  • Workshop 4: Creating a college roadmap 

  • Workshop 5 & 6: Research Reading and Writing: Present reading lesson that includes research, citation. 

  • 2 college tours in the fall semester. 2 college tours in the spring semester. Have students complete a written review/reflection of their experience and why it is important to attend and complete college.

8th Grade

    • Goal setting

    •  Research on schools of their interest

    • Completing mock college applications

    • Completing mock job interviews

    • Completing personal mission statements

    • Group project: School profile and share out on why it is important to attend college and GRIT!

    • 2 college tours in the fall semester. 2 college tours in the spring semester. 

    • Have students complete a written review/reflection of their experience and why it is important to attend and complete college.

9th Grade
